Biography

Kathy Caprino, M.A. is a nationally-recognized women's career coach, entrepreneurial marketing consultant, speaker, and author of Breakdown, Breakthrough: The Professional Woman's Guide to Claiming a Life of Passion, Power, and Purpose (Berrett-Koehler, 2008, www.breakdownbreakthrough.com).

Founder and President of Ellia Communications, Inc. -- a career and success coaching and consulting company dedicated to helping working women achieve breakthrough - Caprino is a trained psychotherapist, seasoned career and executive coach, and sought-after writer and speaker on women's issues. She is a popular blogger on business, workplace, and career topics and trends, and as a top media source, she has appeared in more than 100 leading newspapers and magazines and on national television.

In her coaching, seminars and resources, Kathy focuses on helping professional women achieve a Prosperity Marketing Mindset, as well as gain empowerment, confidence, and self-mastery to navigate through career and business growth and transition. In all her work, she teaches her Model for Empowered Living - which explains the root causes of the 12 "hidden" crises working women face today, and offers three essential steps for empowered change -- based on the key findings from her national research study "Women Overcoming Professional Crisis: Finding New Meaning in Life and Work." Kathy is a former corporate marketing Vice President who has successfully reinvented her own life and work, directly applying the principles she teaches and coaches.

Kathy works with clients both one-on-one and in groups nationally and internationally. She is a frequent invited speaker and workshop presenter in the areas of women's professional women's development, entrepreneurial breakthrough, empowerment, overcoming challenge, navigating successfully through transition, and healthy communication. 

Previous to owning her own coaching business, Kathy built a successful 18-year corporate career in the publishing, book club and membership services industries, serving in various directorship roles in direct marketing, product development, research, and product management.

Kathy earned her M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fairfield University, her B.A. from Boston University, and other educational certifications and training from New York University, University of London, Life Purpose Institute, and the Institute for Life Coaching Training. Her consulting firm is based in Wilton, CT.
